Friends hike to Perry Butte Trail

DOUGLAS COUNTY Friends to hike historic trail The Friends of the Umpqua Hiking Club is planning a Sept. 15 hike on the Perry Butte Trail near Lemolo Lake. Organizers describe the route as a historical trail used by the Wrights, early settlers of Douglas County, in the mid-1930s. The seven-mile trail hooks into the Boulder Creek and Bradley trails. An option exists for a shorter in-and-out hike on a rebuilt back-country trail. Though rated as a moderate trail, it could be difficult in places.
