TILLER: Forest Service road sinks

A section of a U.S. Forest Service road used by hunters and back road enthusiasts in the Tiller Ranger District was closed Wednesday because a portion of the gravel surface gave way in a recent storm. About a 50-foot section of Collins Ridge Road, also known as Forest Road 2929, settled down, leaving just enough room for cars and light pickups to pass, the district’s road manager, Linda Spencer, said.
