Sutherlin offers partial amnesty for court fines

Sutherlin Municipal Court has extended a partial amnesty to individuals with overdue court fines accrued in 2007 or earlier. Debt forgiveness of 25 percent will be granted to qualified residents between Feb. 1 and May 31. Cases with restitution or cases sent to litigation do not qualify for the amnesty program. Overdue fines are those that have resulted in DMV suspension status and have been assigned to a debt collection service.
