A 35-year-old Grants Pass man struggled with officers Monday while being taken into custody on suspicion of shoplifting, Roseburg police said. Eric Hilman was arrested on suspicion of third-degree theft, resisting arrest and carrying a concealed weapon, a knife. Police say Hilman is suspected of stealing soda pop and candy bars from Roseburg Tobacco & Food Mart, 2050 N.E. Stephens St., shortly after 11 a.m. An officer contacted Hilman a few blocks away and reported Hilman resisting being taken into custody. He was being held today in the Douglas County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail. …
