Conservationist to lecture in Roseburg on Klamath Basin

Wendell Woods of the conservation group Oregon Wild will give a lecture titled “Klamath Basin Refuges, Wildlife and Marsh Restoration” at 7 p.m. March 13 at the Douglas County Library, 1409 N.E. Diamond Lake Blvd., Roseburg. The lecture will be hosted by the Umpqua Valley Audubon Society. Woods will discuss bird species, water issues and marsh restoration opportunities in the Klamath Basin in Southern Oregon and Northern California, including a 9,900-acre addition to the Upper Klamath Wildlife Refuge. He has degrees in biology and wildlife management and worked as a high school biology teacher before joining Oregon Wild in 1981 …
