Travis Hopkins of Sutherlin won Best in Show in the third Land of Umpqua Amateur Photo Contest sponsored by the Bureau of Land Management’s Roseburg District and Umpqua National Forest. Hopkins’ photo of a winter forest scene received the most votes at the 17th annual Sportsmen’s & Outdoor Recreation Show at the Douglas County Fairgrounds in February. Photographers submitted 135 photos for the contest. Eight photographers won prizes based on the votes of people who attended the show. Laurie Hayden-Quinn and Tim Van Cleave each won three prizes.
