A few more raindrops add to Roseburg’s rain record

Roseburg received a little more rain Sunday to add to the record-setting total for the month.

A total of 3.84 inches of rain fell in September at the Roseburg Regional Airport. The old record for the month was 2.83 inches set in 1940.

The record was broken when a storm dropped 1.36 inches of rain in a 24-hour period Saturday and Sunday. Another .02 inches of rain fell Monday.

Roseburg set single-day rainfall records for Sept. 20, 21 and 29.

One heat record was tied in September. The high of 99 degrees on Sept. 10 tied a 40-year-old record.
