Douglas County Christian radio station KGRV-700 AM in Winston was knocked off the air Thursday by a cut telephone line and will only broadcast during daylight hours until the line is fixed, station General Manager Phil Morrow said today.
Morrow said the station began experiencing problems at 5 p.m. Thursday.
“The signal kind of faded away,” he said. “By this morning, we were off the air.”
Morrow said he’s learned from CenturyLink the line could be inoperable until Tuesday, though it may be repaired before then, restoring the station to around-the-clock broadcasting.
Until then, the station will broadcast only during the day because transmitting equipment will need to be manually operated, he said.
