Baseball: Renegades win doubleheader against Crater

The Renegades won both game of a doubleheader Wednesday against Crater.

The Roseburg Junior State team (6-3, 5-1) won the first game 9-8. The second game ended after five innings in a 14-4 victory for the Renegades.

In the first game of the day Luke Lucido was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

Crater was ahead 8-6 as the Renegades stepped up to bat at the bottom of the seventh.

Carson Townsend hit a game winning triple with the bases loaded at the bottom of the seventh to win the game.

In game two the Renegades scored seven runs in the fifth inning to defeat Crater 14-4.

Alex Muck was 2-for-4 with a double, two runs, and three RBIs, Zack Manderas was 2-for-3 with a double, a run and two RBIs.

Townsend had a triple in the game, two runs and two RBIs.

Next up for the Renegades is a Legion tournament at South Salem.

Friday the Renegades face La Grande at 3 p.m. and Saturday at 9 a.m. the Roseburg team will go up against North Medford and at 6 p.m. they face West Salem.
