The Docs (5-14) led 12-2 after three innings, scoring six runs in the bottom of the third. Dr. Stewart’s went 3-2 in the three-day tournament.
Kyler Wolford sparked the Docs’ offensive attack, going 5-for-5 with a walk. The recent graduate of Roseburg High School knocked in three runs and scored three times.
Cory Finlay was 3-for-5 and Triston Garnett 2-for-4 for Dr. Stewart’s. Garnett had four RBIs. Three Marketmen pitchers issued nine walks and hit three batters.

Henry Rondeau was 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles for Gerding Builders, which committed seven errors defensively. Tanner Holland and Frey Birdwell were both 2-for-5.
“We hit the baseball well throughout the game,” Dr. Stewart’s coach Scott Shaver said. “They made some mistakes and we made them pay.”
The nine-inning contest lasted nearly 3 ½ hours. The Docs were without two starters – Zach Wyscaver (hand injury) and Jake Forrester (school visit).
The Klamath Falls Senior Babe Ruth team beat Medford 6-3 in Sunday’s championship game.
Dr. Stewart’s will be on the road this week, traveling to Oregon City today to play the Portland Barbers in a doubleheader. First pitch was set for 1 p.m.
The Docs will compete in the Corvallis Star Spangled Tournament at Hansen Stadium over the weekend. Dr. Stewart’s first game is scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday.
“I’m seeing tons of growth in this team,” Shaver said. “I’m excited to see what July is going to bring.”
