Police Log:Beware of man named ‘Boogy’

Monday

Douglas County sheriff

12:48 a.m. — A person in the 2500 block of Northeast Stephens Street reported overhearing a male neighbor step on his chihuahua, which was crying and sounded hurt.

10:14 a.m. — A woman in the 100 block of Carte Lane in Myrtle Creek reported that a pit bull that had charged at her before was in her yard and wasn’t leaving.

10:28 a.m. — A man in the 400 block of Indian Lane in Myrtle Creek said that he was worried that a gray and white pit bull that has charged at him in the past might do it again.

11:50 a.m. — A person in the 400 block of East Fourth Avenue in Riddle reported an ongoing problem with a person coming to their house asking for food and money.

12:08 p.m. — A woman on Upper Camas Road reported that a neighbor had abandoned his horses after a conviction for animal cruelty. She said the horses were now on her land.

12:33 p.m. — A woman reported that a man named “Boogy” had stolen her grandmother’s truck.

1:09 p.m. — A malnourished horse with protruding ribs and a poor coat was observed in the 16000 block of Dixonville Road in Roseburg, next to an empty water trough.

1:43 p.m. — A white Jeep was on its side off Highway 99 near Milepost 199 at Gardiner.

1:48 p.m. — A person in the 1300 block of Doerner Road in Roseburg reported that their 14-year-old grandson was out of control and tearing up the house.

1:51 p.m. — A woman in the 900 block of Oak Hill Road in Roseburg believed that her neighbor had killed her cat and left it in a bucket of water.

3:07 p.m. — A woman in the 100 block of Leisure Street in Glide reported that she’s in the process of moving and her mother keeps yelling at her.

3:32 p.m. — A woman walking her dog near the intersection of Page Road and Wild Fern Drive in Roseburg reported that a carload of teenagers was driving extremely fast and had almost hit her.

4:29 p.m. — A man on Coos Bay Wagon Road in Roseburg reported that a neighbor was riding a rototiller on his property.

4:58 p.m. — A man in the 1000 block of Hayhuhrst Road in Yoncalla reported his neighbor was ruining his fence by cutting a tree.

5:11 p.m. — A man reported that his stepson had used an app to trace his lost iPhone to the Colliding Rivers area near Glide.

5:31 p.m. — A woman in the 100 block of Heron Lane believed someone had tapped her phone.

6:10 p.m. — A woman in the 200 block of Bobwhite Street in Roseburg reported that a friend was refusing to give back her iPod after they had agreed to use it as collateral on a loan.

7:09 p.m. — A woman in the 3400 block of Carnes Road in Roseburg reported that a strange man had followed her home from the railroad tracks.

7:13 p.m. — A driver on Interstate 5 near Milepost 164 at Curtin reported a possible structure fire.

8:54 p.m. — Police were looking for a suspicious man with a gun strapped to his belt in the 4400 block of Carnes Road in Roseburg.

10:20 p.m. — Three people were reported to be fighting in the 2700 block of Edenbower Boulevard in Roseburg. One was armed with a baseball bat.

11:45 p.m. — A woman in Myrtle Creek reported that a man jumped in her car while she was parked at a gas station, and he had just punched her in the face while she was driving.

Myrtle Creek Police

10:34 a.m. — Theft was reported in the 900 block of Northeast Johnson Street.

Roseburg Police

3:40 p.m. — A 29-year-old transient man was sleeping on a couch behind a building in the 1300 block of Southeast Douglas Avenue. He was cited for prohibited camping.

1:50 p.m. — Police were called to a 32-year-old man sitting outside a credit union in the 2300 block of Northwest Kline Street stabbing his backpack with a knife. He told police he had a gun and not a knife. A search revealed he had a knife and not a gun. He was cited for disorderly conduct and taken to jail.

4:30 p.m. — A 22-year-old employee of an urgent care center in the 2500 block of Edenbower Boulevard was caught after allegedly stealing $600 from a co-worker’s purse. She was arrested and taken to jail.

4:45 p.m. — A man reported someone had used his EBT card fraudulently at a local department store last month. Police identified a 38-year-old Roseburg man as the suspect, and arrested him on suspicion of multiple charges. It’s thought the suspect got hold of the card when the victim moved and his new EBT card arrived in the mail at his old address.

8:30 p.m. — A 27-year-old transient woman caused a “large disturbance” at a business near the corner of Stephens Street and Mosher Street that annoyed and alarmed several people. After shoving a man to the ground, the woman was arrested on suspicion of harassment and disorderly conduct.

Sutherlin Police

3:28 p.m. — Fraud was reported in the 2500 block of Peachwood Court.

Winston Police

12:48 p.m. — Theft was reported in the 100 block of Northwest Douglas Boulevard.

Tiffany Annmarie Jones, 41, of Roseburg on suspicion of second-degree arson and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Caleb Andrew Stewart, of Reedsport on suspicion of second-degree burglary, third-degree theft and second-degree criminal mischief.

Sutherlin Police

Kendra Marie Fain, 25, of Sutherlin on suspicion of first-degree theft by deception.

Roseburg Police

Alan James Miller, 38, of Roseburg on suspicion of identity theft, third-degree theft, mail theft, computer crime and fraudulent use of a credit card.
