Police log: Man with dementia rides scooter onto highway

Saturday

Roseburg Police

6:30 p.m. — A man was found in the vicinity of J&J Market on Southeast Stephens Street and arrested on suspicion of being in possession of less than an ounce of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school.

5:38 a.m. — A resident of the 200 block of Breezy Lane in Roseburg reported a neighbor broke their window and was out of control.

8:13 a.m. — A resident of the 500 block of Sierra Drive in Roseburg told police neighbors left for the weekend and left their dog outside. The dog reportedly barks constantly.

8:39 a.m. — A 2000 tan Ford Ranger was reported stolen overnight from the 100 block of Lee Avenue in Glide.

11:51 a.m. — A man was spotted cutting trees from his neighbor’s property in the 200 block of Quiet Mountain Road in Camas Valley and dragging them back to his own.

12:04 p.m. — A man reportedly struck a woman’s vehicle then drove to his residence across the street and struck the building there in the 400 block of North Main Street in Canyonville.

12:11 p.m. — A hit-and-run was reported at the intersection of Eighth Street and Broadway Avenue in Winchester Bay.

12:12 p.m. — Police were asked to check on a man with dementia riding his scooter into Highway 101 at the 100 block of Beach Boulevard in Winchester Bay.

12:47 a.m. — A man was arrested on suspicion of grabbing his 80-year-old mother’s arm and leaving a skin tear.

1:49 p.m. — A diamond ring and watch were stolen from the 500 block of Willis Avenue in Glendale.

6:47 p.m. — A woman in the 900 block of Oak Hill Road in Roseburg reported a person screaming at her and taking pictures.

9:21 p.m. — A woman reported her neighbor’s dogs being at large and harassing her horses in the 1200 block of Laid Back Lane in Roseburg.

11:02 p.m. — A resident of the 500 block of Hewitt Avenue reported neighbors were trying to break down the door.

12:05 a.m. — A man was escorted out of the Chrome nightclub on Diamond Lake Boulevard by bouncers after a verbal altercation with other patrons. He was arrested on supsicion of disorderly conduct and criminal trespass after running back in side and continuing to fight The man had to be physically detained in handcuffs by bar staff.

12:52 p.m. — Injury accident reported in the curves near Milepost 108 on Interstate 5 at Myrtle Creek.

1:58 p.m. — A woman awoke to hear a vehicle ripping her fence and spinning out on gravel. The car headed toward Myrtle Creek. About 20 feet of fencing was torn out.

5:09 p.m. — A driver was uninjured when he or she drove into mail boxes at the 4100 block of Carnes Road in Roseburg but the pickup was not drivable after the accident.

Christopher Lynn Bebeau, 24, of Sutherlin on suspicion of first-degree theft, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, parole violation, failure to register as a sex offender and criminal mischief.

Trina Kay Helton, 42, of Roseburg on suspicion of criminal mischief, criminal trespass and attempted burglary.

Matthew Christopher Tingle, 28, of Roseburg on suspicion of unlawful possession of methamphetamine and unlawful possession of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school.

Randy Alan Wright, 41, of Roseburg on suspicion of four counts of recklessly endangering another person, reckless driving and driving under the influence of intoxicants.

Craig Shutts, 43, of Roseburg on suspicion of unlawful possession of methamphetamine and probation violation.

9:07 p.m. — A natural cover fire was reported in the 600 block of Plat I Road.
