Age 90, passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2013. Walter was born in Dierks, Arkansas, on March 23, 1923 to William B. and Florence (Shelton) Alexander.
Walter was proud to have served his country and was a World War II veteran. He had retired from Roseburg Forest Products and was a longtime resident of Winston, Oregon.
Walter enjoyed growing grapes, blueberries, tayberries and strawberries and often shared the “starts” with others. His yard was known for its bounty of red and yellow tulips that graced his front and side yards.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Georgia (Kitchens); nine brothers; and two sisters. He is survived by daughters: Marilynn (Eldon) Robinson; Ashland; and Susan (Mike) Sutton, Roseburg; six grandchildren: Saira; Andrew; Matthew; Michael Jr.; Jacob; Joseph; seven great-grandchildren and brother, Clyde Alexander.
Services will be held in Greens Chapel, Arkansas.
