Howard ‘Buck’ Charles Beeler Jr.

Age 82, of Roseburg OR, died peacefully in his home on Friday, May 2, 2014. His passing marked the end of a long battle with Parkinson’s. Buck is remembered for his joyful and adventurous life. He was a retired Commander after serving in the US Coast Guard for 23 years. He travelled to both the North and South poles as well as many ports of call in Europe and Asia. He was stationed in Oregon, Washington, Massachusetts, and California. Upon retirement from the Coast Guard he moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ, where he lived for 35 years. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bobbie Beeler (Fowler). He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Mardi Beeler (Salkeld); and his sister, Marcia Darland (Beeler) of Roseburg, OR. He will be greatly missed by all his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, shipmates, and many friends. A celebration will be held in Lake Havasu City, AZ, at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Hospice of Roseburg, Wounded Warriors, or National Parkinson Foundation.
