Judy Bethine Hughes (Eastridge)

Judy passed away on Monday, May 12, 2014. She was born to Gather Eastridge and Frances Campbell on January 6, 1954 in Canyonville, Oregon. Judy attended school in Myrtle Creek, and later Chemeteka Community College in Salem, Oregon, where she earned a degree in business. Judy married Jim Hughes in Coquille, Oregon, in September 1977. They were happily married for 37 years.

After many years living on the Oregon coast they moved to the Portland/Salem area where Judy managed apartment complexes for several years.

Judy loved the outdoors and her hobbies included fishing with her husband Jim and gardening. She had a love for animals and a passion for the Native American culture.

After retiring in 2012 Judy moved back to Myrtle Creek along with her husband Jim so she could be closer to her mother and family.

Judy was preceded in death by her father, Gather Eastridge; stepfather, Floyd Campbell; brothers, Jimmy Eastridge and Mickey Osborne.

Judy is survived by her husband, Jim Hughes; mother, Frances Campbell; a brother, Tony Eastridge and his wife Sheri; sisters, Mary Flock and her husband Jim and Donna Gibson and her husband Lloyd, all of Myrtle Creek, and many more relatives. Judy’s family would like to give a special thanks to Amedisys Hospice Care for the kindness and support of their caregivers.

A celebration of life followed by a potluck will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2014, at 1 p.m. at the Valley View Retirement Center, 100 Cordelia Drive, Myrtle Creek, Oregon, in the community room.
