Age 83, of Myrtle Creek, Oregon, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2014. She was born on May 5, 1931 in La Brea, CA, to Harry and Opal Hollingsworth. Lee was raised in Drain, Oregon, where she married Earl Sweet in 1947. They settled in the Klamath Basin where Earl worked at Oregon Institute of Technology and Lee worked at the local hospital and the US Postal Service. In 1968, Lee married Les Witt - her husband of 29 years who passed away in 1997. Together they owned a Texaco station and café in Midland, Oregon, for many years. Lee and Les moved from the Klamath Basin to Myrtle Creek in 1983. Lee loved her rural home where she gardened and watched deer and other wildlife. Lee held several positions in the local area - last working as a Roseburg News Review paper carrier for eleven years from 1993 to her retirement in 2004. In addition to her parents; and husband, Lee is predeceased by her brother, Harry Hollingsworth and her sister, Jeanine Rising. Lee is survived by her sons: Larry Sweet, Grants Pass; Gary and Lon Sweet, both of Klamath Falls; daughters: Darlene Kendall, Arizona; Eileen Hadley, Midland; Rachael Thurston, Myrtle Creek; brother, Grant Hollingsworth, Nevada; grandchildren: Craig Barnes, Jeffrey Barnes, David Braden, Melissa Webb, Micah Braden, Annie Reagan, Audrey Kingzett, Jeremy Sweet, Logan Sweet; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and friends. A graveside memorial will be held Sunday, May 25, 4 p.m. at Eagle Point National Cemetery, 2763 Riley Road, Eagle Point, OR.
