A native New Yorker, Sandy received his doctorate at the University of Kansas before joining the Roseburg V.A. Hospital’s Psychology staff in 1964. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hiking, birding, fly fishing, and crabbing, and could make his way around the kitchen, delighting friends and family with his jams and preserves. Sandy died on Friday, February 7 after suffering from a stroke. He leaves behind his wife, Rose; children, Louise, Marian, and Joshua; and five grandchildren. A private memorial service will be held in June.
