Age 93, passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2014, in San Diego, CA. She was born on February 6, 1921, in Kansas City, MO, to John and Minnie Wheelhouse. Jean moved to Los Angeles, in late teens. She married Art Mann in 1938 and they were married for 62 years. They lived and raised seven children in Los Angeles, San Diego and Salt Lake City areas. They moved to Oregon, enjoyed over 20 years in Winchester.
Jean was very active in several community service organizations. She was a very kind, loving, and fun person. She will be missed by all who knew her. Jean was active in the Lions Club of Roseburg (past Lioness President), Greater Federation of Women’s Club (past Local and District President), Project Literacy of Douglas County, League of Women Voters of Umpqua Valley, and St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Jean is survived by sons: Art, Bill, and Dan Mann; daughters: Barbara Jungers, Linda Ferber, Debbie Vance, Cyndi Knapp; and daughter-in-laws, Billie, Gloria, and Cindy Mann; son-in-laws: Tom Vance, Norm Ferber, and Eric Knapp; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by the family of her deceased brother and sister-in-law Jack and Gladys Wheelhouse. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at the Calvary Cemetery, Los Angeles.
