Age 94, passed away in her home in Roseburg, Oregon, on Friday, May 23, 2014. Born May 27, 1919 in Gering, Nebraska to parents, John Rotherham and Lucinda Emma Keith, She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace McClellan, five sisters, Julia, Alice, Faye, Genivieve and Margaret and her step-son Merlin McClellan. She moved from Atlantic, Iowa to Roseburg, OR, in 1984 to live with her daughter and son-in-law. She was loved and cherished bay all who met her and to all who touched her life. Mary loved going to the coast, Bandon, OR, was her favorite place, and going to Wildlife Safari in Winston, OR. Mary traveled to many locations in her 20’s and met her husband Wallace in San Pedro, CA, in 1945. She had a son Colbert in San Pedro and daughter Marsha in Phoenix, AR; she helped raise her step-children Wallace Jr., Merlin and Landis. Mary is survived by her son Colbert (Jane) McClellan of Ithaca, NY; daughter Marsha (Michael) McLain of Roseburg, OR; Wallace “Bud” McClellan of Prague, OK, and Landis McClellan of Prague, OK. She leaves her friend and caregiver, Velma Alter, and her friends Sharon Bedell, Sue Wise and her furry friends the kitty’s who would sit on the deck with her. Mary leaves many nieces and nephews in the Atlantic, Iowa, area and grandchildren in California. She touched many in her long life and we all know who we are. She was a treasure in life and in death we can only know the joy of knowing her. She will return to Atlantic, Iowa to be with her family who has been waiting for her return.
