Dorothy Fern (Brown) Peterson

Age 83, of Canyonville, Oregon, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 29, 2014 in Canyonville. She was born March 4, 1931 in Columbia, Missouri. Her family moved to Sacramento, CA in 1938. She visited her sister in Glendale, Oregon in 1949 when she met logger Charles W. Peterson who she married November 5, 1949.

Preceded in death by parents Dudley and Jenny (Russell) Brown, husband Charles W. Peterson, sister Edith (Brown) Sittner, brother Fred Brown, step-son Michael Peterson and step daughter-in-law Ruby (Parker) Peterson.

Survived by son Arthur W. Peterson married to Deborah (Harteis) Peterson of Oxford Michigan, sister Vernita (Brown) Marriott married to Clyde Marriott of Canyonville, Oregon.

Six grandchildren, Michelle Peterson of Great Falls, Montana, Jacqueline (Peterson) Smith married to Master Sergeant Chris Smith of Croswell, Michigan, Gunnery Sergeant Shawn Peterson married to Maria (Novoa) Peterson United States Marine Corp of Yuma, Arizona, David Peterson married to Jeannie Peterson of Helena, Montana, Patrick Peterson, Misty (Parker) Ball married to Skyler Ball of Centralia Washington. Ten great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Four nieces and two nephews. Nephew Ron Marriott and his wife Judy who have been carrying for her these last few years. Georgie Skiles Rogers of Centralia, Washington. Dorothy leaves many friends and loved ones.

She has been an active member of the Canyonville Seventh Day Adventist church where a memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2014 at 3:00 p.m.
