Horseshoes: Fewer pitchers in second tournament, Quinn finishes second

A little more than a dozen horseshoe pitchers showed up for the second Stewart Park Open horseshoe competition on Sunday.

The first tournament, which was held Saturday, drew 21 pitchers and 13 pitchers returned for the second Oregon Horseshoe Pitchers Association sanctioned tournament.

Roseburg’s Robbin Quinn finished second in the Class B tournament, behind Jim Hinks of Central Point.

Due to the lower number of competitors the classes were mixed with 30- and 40-foot pitchers.

The next horseshoe tournament to be held in Roseburg will be on July 26.
