Father and son suspected of Apple theft at Roseburg Walmart

A father and son were arrested Thursday on suspicion of stealing more than $7,000 worth of Apple electronics from Walmart, Roseburg police said.

Walmart security officers told police that two men were seen stealing the merchandise, but left before they were apprehended.

Two suspects, however, were later stopped at Fred Meyer on suspicion of trying to steal merchandise from that store and were arrested, police said.

Roger Jesse Valenzuela, 35, of Los Angeles and Roger Jesse Valenzuela Jr., 18, of Shoreline, Washington, were arrested on suspicion of first-degree theft.

The elder Valenzuela also was arrested on suspicion of methamphetamine possession.

Valenzuela Sr. was in custody today in the Douglas County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail, while his son was being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
