Herbert Lowell Crain Jr.

Age 60, of Willamina, Oregon passed away peacefully at home on July 27, 2014 of natural causes while surrounded by his family.

He was born July 24, 1954 to Herbert Lowell and Ethel Mae (Ferguson) Crain in Cottage Grove, OR and spent his childhood and school years in Drain, OR. He resided in Roseburg and Sutherlin as well, eventually moving late in life to Willamina, OR.

He married Paula Orlene Doren in 1973 and they had two children Sarah May Crain and Herbert James Crain. They later divorce. He and long time companion Carol Gaddy had three daughters Andrea May Gaddy, Angela Rose Gaddy and Amber Dawn Crain. The children of these unions were the greatest loves of his life. He was beloved by all and known for his kind, loving nature and gentle heart.

Over the years Herb worked various jobs including auto detailing with McMullin Chevrolet, mechanic, as a wild fire fighter and a lengthy time in the roofing industry.

He was preceded in death by his parents and older brother Terry Elijah Crain. He is survived by sister Karen Sue Watt (Gerald), Curtin, OR; son Herbert James Crain, Drain, OR; daughters (husbands) Sarah May Stone (Steven), Sheridan, OR; Andrea May Crabtree (Ronnie), Angela Rose Livermore (Michael) and Amber Dawn Weaver (Brad), all of Roseburg, OR; 11 grandchildren, 1 great grandson and numerous stepchildren whom he loved and thought of as his own.

There will be a Celebration of Life service at Prospector Park in Cottage Grove on Sunday, August 17, 2014. His remains will be interred at the family cemetery in Nevada, MO.
