James ‘Jim’ Eugene Doine

Age 62, of Roseburg, Oregon, passed away last Father’s Day, June 15, 2014 in Burney, California in a car accident.

Jim was born December 4, 1951 in Spokane, WA. to Ray and Mary-Lou Doine. He wed Jeanette ‘Jennie’ Constant, in Grants Pass, OR. December 28, 1969. He graduated from Grants Pass High School in 1970. He purchased his first home at age 18, and worked alongside his father building several homes in the Grants Pass and Roseburg areas. He served as a Roseburg Police Officer, where he was awarded commendation for his work with teenagers. He was a mill-worker and heavy-equipment operator for several companies including: Roseburg Lumber, Umpqua Sand and Gravel and Weaver Construction in LaGrande, OR. His work included rebuilding the jetty in Crescent City, CA. He enjoyed repairing, painting and restoring old cars, specializing in Corvettes.

He is survived by his wife, Jennie Doine, his three children: Angela Pettengill, Katrina Wade and Tracy McGrew, his five grandchildren: Andrea McGrew, Mariah Welter, Allen McGrew, Joshua Pettengill and Kaitlynn Wade, and his one great-granddaughter, Carina Otey. He is also survived by his father, Raymond Doine, and his sister Cheryl Ewart.

All are welcome to attend his celebration of life on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at North Roseburg Evangelical Free Church, 1553 NE Vine St Roseburg, OR. 97470, followed by a potluck reception. Please contact Sue at 541-817-6468 to confirm food categories.
