Age 66, a life-long Days Creek resident, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 21st, with his loved ones by his side. Jim served his country in Vietnam and had a long and distinguished career with the U.S. Forest Service at the Tiller Ranger District. He was an avid outdoorsman, spending many years as a seasonal river guide on the Rogue and Umpqua Rivers.
Jim is survived by his sister, Sheryl, brother, Calvin, wife of 44 years, Sandi, sons, Trever and Travis, daughter-in-law, Rachel, grandsons, Ian, Joshua and Mackenzie and great-grand daughters, Raegan and Lilly.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held in the Days Creek School gymnasium on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at 11 a.m. with a community potluck to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the Days Creek School Athletics Fund.
