Passed away January 12, 2013. He was born on October 6, 1916 in Pasadena, California and has lived in Roseburg, Oregon since retiring as a Captain from American Airlines in 1976. He led a full life of skiing, sailing, parachute jumping, and his first love “flying”. He was a race car driver for a while and a flight instructor during the war. He built a Pitts and an RV4, which he flew until he was 94. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna in 1992 and his brother, Gordon in 2011. He is survived by his two daughters, Gail Houston of Bedford, Texas and Terry Littleton of Fresno, California, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was a life time member of the NRA, the John Birch Society, as well as a member of the Quiet Birdman Medford Hanger, the Experimental Aircraft Association, Grey Eagles, and Southern Oregon Warbirds. A luncheon memorial will be held at the Umpqua Community Center, 806 Hubbard Creek Rd. on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at noon.
