Beatrice Louise Conaway

Age 98, of Yoncalla, Oregon passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2013. She was born on August 27, 1914 in Broken Bow, Nebraska to James and Ethyl (Montgomery) Loyd. She married Carl Daniel Conaway on October 5, 1934 in Broken Bow, Nebraska. They moved to California where Beatrice worked on the ration board in Richmond during WWII. She and her husband worked on various farms up and down Interstate 5 and she worked in retail and customer service for Wamsley’s Red & White General Store in Yoncalla, OR where they have resided for the last 60 years. Beatrice enjoyed knitting, sewing, teaching Bible school, reading, canning, camping, fishing and church activities. She was a member of the American Legion. Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband Carl Conaway on December 18, 2001. She is survived by her sister, Julia Runions of Pinole, CA; nephew, Howard and Judy Loyd of Lakeside, OR; nephew, Richard and Donna Davenport of Pinole, CA; nephew, Bill and Carla Runions of Pinole, CA; niece, Geraldine Blanchfill of Yoncalla, OR; nephew, Robert and Wanda Blanchfill of Fort Smith, Arkansas; nephew, John Blanchfill of Sun City, CA and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday January 25, 2013 at the Yoncalla Church of Christ in Yoncalla, OR. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Yoncalla Church of Christ, Yoncalla, OR.
