On Her Mother’s Birthday, January 12, 2013 Joy Irene (Hunter) Beutler accepted the hand of the Lord and had him take her home. She was born March 13, 1929 in Noel, Missouri, the second of nine children to Clarence and Leona (Lovitt) Hunter. She met her husband to be, Earl Eugene Beutler, in Wilder, Idaho and they were married 40 days later, on February 28, 1948 and they were married one month shy of 65 years. They had two children; a son Ronald Eugene who died in Vietnam in 1971; a daughter Joy (her name sake); step-daughter Elaine; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Joy was active in her church and community. She gave over 25 years of service to the Sutherlin Senior Center. In 1979 Joy and Earl joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Where she was a member of the choir, taught cooking classes and was the leader of the Compassionate Service for the Sutherlin Ward for over 20 years. Joy is survived by her husband Earl; daughter Joy (Richard) step-daughter Elaine (John); brother Frank; sisters: Lena (Tom); Shirley (Larry); Patsy (Oscar); and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also preceded in death by her parents; brothers Bob and Bill; sisters Betty and Linda Sue and her grandson William “Willie”. The family would like to extend a very heartfelt Thank You to the wonderful caring staff at Mercy Medical Center and Rose Haven Nursing Center for all the loving care they showed her and her family. Service will be held at the Sutherlin Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, on Saturday, January 26, 2013, at 1:30 p.m. Arrangements are being handled by Wilson’s Chapel of the Roses. A “Forever in Our Hearts Table” to honor loved ones no longer with us will be setup in the receiving area, after the main service. We would be honored to place a picture of your loved ones with ours during the time of the reception.
