Einar Lindseth

Einar Lindseth the son of Norwegian immigrant parents, Lars and Christine Lindseth, was born in Hoquiam, WA September 25, 1926 and passed away Saturday, February 2, 2013. He attended schools in Aberdeen, WA and Northwest Bible Institute where he met the love of his life, Maude Osborn. They married April 22, 1950 and moved to Roseburg in October 1954. For over 40 years he rarely missed a day of work at the plywood mill, unless called to honor a strike. The repetitive work freed his mind to pray, his vocation. Einar’s humble, profound faith in Jesus was the foundation of his life. He served for many years as a church leader and did jail outreach. Einar was a wonderful father. The family enjoyed country living on a small acreage in Garden Valley. He could turn most work into fun and rewarding experiences. He often took the kids and friends swimming at Cleveland Rapids Park while Maude made a delicious dinner with all their fresh produce and fruit. He is survived by his wife, Maude; five children: David, John, Timothy Sr (Teresa), Janette (Mark) Plunkett, Christine (Micheal) Church; 10 grandchildren: Dawayne (Jamie Jo), Kelsey (Jamie Renee), Timothy Jr (Stephanie) Lindseth, Trisha (Jason) Clowar, Natalie and Kristopher Plunkett, Erik, Vanessa, Monica and Shelby Church; five great-grandchildren: Curtis and Rachel Clowar, Samantha, Peyton and Chloe Lindseth; one sister, Margaret (Leo) Kecki; cousins: Elmer (Joan) and Oliver (Faye) Lindseth, many cousins in Norway and many nieces and nephews. All of whom loved to visit the Lindseth farm.

The family wanted to thank all the staff and caregivers at Garden Valley Retirement as well as the wonderful Hospice people whose assistance made Einar’s last days more pleasant.

Viewing will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, February 8, 2013 at Taylor’s Family Mortuary at 245 SW in Winston. Funeral services will be on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Garden Valley Church, 3074 Garden Valley Rd, Roseburg. In lieu of flowers donate to the charity of your choice.
