Age 72, of Roseburg, Oregon, battled AML for more than a year before passing away on Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at her home in Garden Valley. Marianna was born and raised in St. Louis Missouri. She graduated from Rock High School and earned a Bachelor’s degree from Webster College. She taught high school and coached volleyball and basketball at Ursuline Academy. Marianna moved to Fullerton CA, in 1969 where she met and married Arliss (Rick) Garrett. While having three children, she continued her education at Cal. State, Long Beach, in the master program. The family relocated to Roseburg, OR in 1980 where she became a substitute teacher. She also taught at Pitchford Boy’s Ranch and Mercy BHU. Marianna was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Verna and Beau Dostal; and her daughter, Jennifer Garrett. She is survived by her husband, of 43 years, Arliss (Rick) Garrett; daughter, Michelle Davison and her husband Robert Davison; son, Gregory Scott Garrett; grand children: Courtney, Reagan, Hannah, Dillon, and Raine.

Marianna was a caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be missed.
