Janice Marcia Durbin

Age 76, long time resident of Florence, Oregon, went to heaven on March 26, 2013, losing a battle with cancer. She was born in Lafayette, Oregon, on March 23, 1937, and was married to Martin Durbin Jr. on June 21, 1953, in Florence OR. During her working career, she was a great wife, mother, kitchen supervisor at Western Lane Hospital and Mayor of Elgin, Oregon. She loved working beside her husband, making porcelain dolls, cooking and sewing. Her death was preceded by her brother, Keith Stonelake of Florence, OR; and her daughter, Darla Durbin. She is survived by her spouse, Martin Durbin Jr.; two brothers and their spouses: Larry and Kathy Stonelake of Florence OR; Lynn and Marlene Stonelake of Dillon MT; her three children and their spouses: Dave and Helen Durbin of Lafayette OR; Mark and Fern Durbin of Florence OR; Dwanee and Ken Howard of Corvallis OR; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Peace Harbor Home Health and Hospice. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2013, at the Florence’s Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Private Internment will be held at Pacific Sunset Cemetery.
