Verda M. Davis

of Elkton, Oregon, passed away on March 21, 2013 at the age of 98. She was born October 19, 1914 in Visalia, California to parents Robert K. and Nellie M. (Smith) Brundage. She graduated from Cottage Grove High School. Verda worked as a secretary in the Los Angeles area and during the war she worked for an airplane manufacturer. She raised four children. She enjoyed being active, taking trips and picnics, seeing new things and Yosemite National Park that she visited just about every year. Verda was a member of the Elkton Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sons, David Syfritt of Elkton, OR; Hal Syfritt of Manhattan Beach, CA; stepsons, Leonard Davis of Elkton, OR and Norman Davis of OK; stepdaughters, Gene Olson of Elkton, OR and Norma Verdin of Wellmington, CA; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Wesley Syfritt and Almer Davis; son, Bob Syfritt and daughter, Virginia Clark.

Memorial service will be held on Friday, April 5, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the Elkton Baptist Church in Elkton, Oregon.
