Passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at the age of 90. She was born on August 17, 1922 in Albany, Oregon, to parents John Albert and Mary Merle (Gunter) Rutschman. She grew up in The Irish Bend, Northeast of Monroe, Oregon. Louise went to beauty school in Portland, Oregon, and began working in Eugene, Oregon, and then in Woodland, Washington. She also worked on war planes in Everett, Washington until marrying Laurence Rigor on September 15, 1943. They lived on farms in The Irish Bend and Philomath, Oregon until Laurence went to work for Phipps Forest Nursery in Elkton in 1957. They moved to the Winston area in 1991. The two raised seven children who she was very proud of Sharon of Lacey, Washington; Charlotte Clemo and Linn of Oregon City, Oregon; Tommy and Barbara of Gardnerville, Nevada; Linda Bentley and Dick of Coos Bay, Oregon; Rex and Tracy of Great Falls, Montana; Patti Jacobs and Brent of Bend, Oregon; and Kenneth and Anne of Pittsburg, California. She is survived by all seven children; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren as well as a sister, Eugenia Berens of Eugene. Louise worked for the State Forest Nursery and retired as cook of the Elkton Elementary School. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and making quilts. Louise was faithful to God her entire life and attended church wherever she lived. She was also involved the Grange as well. A Celebration of Life will be held at Riverview Terrace in Roseburg on Saturday, April 6, 2013, at 1p.m. Officiating will be Pastor Joe Montoya of Grace Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Taylor’s Family Chapel.
