Born February 28, 1928 to Josephine Ratliff Moore and Henry Melvin Moore in Acworth, Texas passed away on April 17, 2013 in Dillard, Oregon at the age of 85. She was united in marriage to Felix Dave McHargue in 1944 and she and Dave lived in New Mexico, California, and Oregon before settling in the Winston-Dillard area in 1954. Helen is survived by one sibling, Nell Johnson of Broken Bow, Oklahoma. Helen leaves five children Don McHargue and wife Norma of Winston, Anna Schwietzer and husband Butch of Olatha, Kansas, Claude McHargue and wife Karen of Dillard, Paula Glick and husband Ted of Winston, and Mike McHargue and Wife Karen of Dillard; she also leaves grandchildren Debra Coehn of Eugene, Julie McHargue of Salem, Oregon, Mike McHargue of Portland, Oregon, Ken Godwin of Lawrence, Kansas, Greg Godwin of Gardner, Kansas, Alan Godwin of Olatha, Kasas, David Williams of Spring Branch, Texas, Samantha Carpenter of Sonoma, California, Brett Gill of Roseburg, Andrea Stroum of Tigard, Oregon, Claude (Butch) McHargue of Roseburg, Juanna Winder of Fort Hood, Texas, Michael (Buddy) McHargue of Dillard. Her life was blessed with numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, special friends and neighbors. Helen also held a special place in her heart for Royce and Jan McHargue of Arkansas City, Kansas. Extended family or friends were always welcome to gather at her table and share a meal or even stay awhile. Helen had a heart for people in need of her care and or help. There were many touched by her love and even today carry fond memories of her kindness. Helen had a hope that all would come to know Jesus Christ as Savior and always tried to reflect the image of Christ through the way she lived. Service will be held to celebrate her memory on Monday, April 22, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. At the Winston Church of the Nazarene, 385 Thompson St., Winston, OR. Pastor Cheryl Colby will officiate the services. A meal will be provided at the church after a short graveside service at Civil Bend Pioneer Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Taylor’s Family Chapel.
