Dominic S. ‘Dan’ Morando

Dan was born July 22, 1938 in Ontario, CA to parents Edith and Jim Morando. Dan passed on April 8, 2013 in Roseburg, OR.

Dan spent four years in the United States Air Force before returning to southern California. He helped clear and level the land for the first Walt Disney Park in Anaheim, California.

Dan married his wife Jeanie in Drain, OR on June 12, 1984. He finished his working years driving for B&B Roads. In Dan’s own words, “The best company I ever worked for.”

Dan is survived by his wife Jeanie of Yoncalla; one son, Johnny and his wife Patty of Denard, AR; four daughters: Sherry Whatt of Eugene, Debby Gray of Roseburg, Marcy Shields of Yoncalla, Cheri Cook of New Orleans; a brother, Harly and his wife Mary Morando of Cheno, CA; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sister-in-laws; three brother-in-laws; and many nieces and nephews.

Dan is preceded in death by his parents, a son Jimmy Morando and sister-in-law Carol Stevenson Pederson.

There will be a gathering of family and friends at the Pass Creek Park in Curtin on April 27, 2013 at 1 p.m. After the services and ceremony, there will be a potluck dinner. A special celebration will be held that afternoon so please bring a lawn chair. Help us celebrate the 74 years of life for Dan Dan the trucking man.
