Richard ‘Dick’ Thomas

Went to join his Heavenly Father and parents, George J. Thomas and Jessie K. Millikin, on Sunday, April 28, 2013. Dick was born on March 19, 1926, in Roseburg, Oregon. His family shared a home with his grandfather Joseph Nancarrow Thomas, until his grandfather’s death in 1939. Dick lived and worked his entire life on the Thomas Family Ranch on Roberts Creek Road, and his grandfather purchased in 1911. He was a long time member of the Evergreen Grange and the Roseburg First Presbyterian Church. Dick had an amazing memory, he was able to tell you family happenings from the time he was a small boy. If you happened to hear him speaking of the same happening more than once the tale never change, because he told it with exact details ever time. Dick was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Paul Thomas; and sister-in-law, Ardis Thomas.

He is survived by his youngest brother, George B. Thomas, of Roberts Creek; several cousins: Marilee; Shirly; Bonnie; Peggy; Bob; Jim; Pat; Kay; along with other family members: Jo Anne(Bob) and their family: Pilar, and Jo Anna; Robert Thomas and his family: Teri (Kevin) Matthew, Tika; and Elizabeth; Harry(Julie) Thomas and their family: Levi and Seth; Cindy (Dan) Thomas and their family: Joseph, Tommie, Rosa, and Clement; Leann (Joe) and their family Katie, and Sarah; along with his cousin Lee’s wife, Oma Thomas.

Cindy, Harry, Joseph and Clement all as young children enjoyed many hours with dick, whom was a positive influence in their lives. He will be greatly missed. “Dick, we loved you”. Dick’s families want to Thank Debbie for her loving care. A potluck celebration of life will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2013 from 2 to 4 p.m. at his home at 5379 Roberts Creek Road.
