Helen Rose Logosz

Was a native Oregonian born on March 23, 1926 in Gold Hill, Oregon, to Anderson ‘Bill’ and Anna Winkelman. Helen died at the Salem Hospital of pneumonia following surgery in Portland. Helen was 87.

Helen married Johnnie Logosz on May 18, 1946 (married 51 years) in Grants Pass, moving to Roseburg shortly after her marriage. There are four children: Andy, Terry, Ginger and Lee Ann. There are five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Helen worked for Mercy Hospital and named employee of the year. Helen was most noted as a homemaker. Her family and friends are left with memories of a woman who was a hard worker, always had a clean home, cooked many good meals and sewed many outfits. She decorated cakes and made sugar art. If you were sick Helen was there taking charge. Ask Helen for anything she gave. She liked to laugh. She liked jokes. She liked to drive fast. And there wasn’t a slot machine she didn’t give a run for its money. She liked to dance and have a drink, you just had to watch she didn’t start dancing on the table. She was fun, loving and that woman had spirit that will live a long time in our memories. We’re gonna miss you mom.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Lee Ann and husband Johnnie.

There will be a celebration of life held at Andy’s home at 1746 Jasper Avenue, Sutherlin, Oregon on June 1st from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.
