Marguerite was a loving wife and mother who was committed to making her home a welcome place for all to come. She taught her children proper table manners and when she told us to do something, she expected it to be done now and correctly. She lived all her life in Glendale, graduating from Glendale High School in 1936. Prior to moving to Eugene in September, Marguerite lived in the same home for 51 years. On September 22, 1974 Marguerite accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and she along with both husbands were active in the Azalea Community church. She had many friends and close relatives who loved her and cared for her. Her neighbors, (The Booth Family), were very generous in giving of their time to assist her where needed after the loss of her first husband in 1985. She enjoyed arts and crafts, and had made many things for family and friends.

Holidays were a special time and one which mom enjoyed preparing dinners for and celebrating with family and friends. She enjoyed playing cards and board games with friends and family and played with evening and day time pinochle groups for many years. In her younger years she enjoyed square dancing and round dancing. Camping and hunting trips were looked forward to, along with camping at the beach or in the Redwood Trees of Northern California. Her pets were deer and two stray cats that she worked with over time to get them to come to the back door. After moving to Eugene and living in assisted living, she had many falls that required trips to the hospital and in one instance, broke the right wrist. Management at the home were amazed at how quick she got back on her feet. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, mother in law, and grandmother /great- grandmother and step mother. She would want us to give special thanks to Cliff and Sharlette Smith for their care and support over the many years that she lived alone.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Azalea Community Church, P.O. Box 274, Azalea, OR 97410.
