J.C. Owens

Passed on to his heavenly home on May 11, 2013. J.C. was born to Hortie and Mary Jane Owens on May 6, 1926 in Stape, Oklahoma. He played baseball on the Hodgen baseball team, along with his brothers B.H. and Ted.

He leaves behind three sons, Jaycee, Scott (Patsy) and Mark; one brother, Ted and his sister, Maudie Debolt; five grandsons: Tyson, Bronson, Connor, Kaden and Kyle; two granddaughters, Markelle and Krystal and two great-grandchildren: Matias and Elsa.

J.C. worked in the timber industry in OK, Arizona and Oregon. He loved to hunt and fish on his weekends. He also enjoyed working on cars or anything mechanical he would often take on the roll of mechanic for many of his friends and family. He was always willing to help with a smile while whistling a tune.

He is survived by many nieces, nephews and three grown step-children: Ricky, Darlene and Alvin. J.C. was preceded in death by his father, mother, brothers B.H., Claud and his beloved wife Susie.

Graveside service will be held at Canyonville Cemetery on Wednesday, May 15, at 10:30 a.m.
