Oakland man arrested in gun dispute

An Oakland man who retrieved a revolver during a domestic disturbance was arrested by Sutherlin police around 6:20 p.m. Tuesday, Sutherlin Sgt. Justin Marquis said today.

Brady Howard Sutton, 55, of Oakland, was arrested on suspicion of unlawful use of a weapon, menacing and recklessly endangering another person.

Officers responded to a disturbance in the 300 block of Northeast Pine Street and found a woman and Sutton fighting. Sutton grabbed a revolver during the fight. He and the woman struggled over the gun, and she got it away from him, Marquis said.

“She kept it from him till officers arrived,” Marquis said.

Sutton was booked into Douglas County Jail and held in lieu of $145,003 today.
