Janet L. Sinnott (Woods)

Was born October 1, 1939 in Kent, Oregon to John and Bernice Woods. She was the youngest of four children. Janet graduated from Roseburg High School in 1958, and remained close to her friends in the class of “58”, having lunch with the “lunch bunch” every month at Abby’s. She was united in marriage on October 11, 1967 to Lawrence L. Sinnott in Roseburg, Oregon. They would have celebrated their 46th anniversary this year. Janet had a kind and loving heart, and to know her was to love her. She is survived by her brother Paul (Sue) Woods of Tacoma, Washington; her sister Georgia Hounshell of Roseburg, Oregon; her sister Frances Taylor of Roseburg, Oregon; “daughter” Christy Norton; “son” Jarred Norton, and “granddaughter” Trisann Norton all of Roseburg, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other family, friends and loved ones from all over, too numerous to name. Janet loved fishing and the outdoors, crocheting, her flowers and made pies for every occasion. She was loved by all, and was always willing to lend a hand (or hat) to anyone in need. This past year, while battling cancer herself, she knitted over 60 hats to donate to children with cancer. She will be dearly missed and in our hearts forever.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 21st at 11 a.m. at Roseburg Memorial Gardens with a celebration of life to follow at River Forks Park. Please bring your favorite potluck dish, your chair and a favorite story of Janet to tell.
