Kenneth D. Wallace

Age 52, passed away on June 11, 2013. He was born June 23, 1960 in Roseburg, Oregon to parents Denver and Ruth Wallace. Ken was raised in Myrtle Creek and graduated from South Umpqua HS in 1978. He worked as a DJ for a local radio station and later at Fat Harvey’s Truck Stop prior to enlisting in the Air Force. After service 11+ years, he worked at the Roseburg VA, Oregon Employment Department, Bayliner and Armored Transport, until his health further declined due to an illness he contracted while serving in Operation Desert Shield/Storm.

Ken was at one time an avid outdoorsman. He loved guns, hunting, fishing and crabbing. He will be especially remembered for pulling “Fish Tales”, his beloved boat, and for telling vivid stories of his adventures.

Survivors include his faithful canine companion, Lily, and his brother Ron (Kim) Wallace from Dallas, Oregon; sister-in-law, Margaret from McMinnville, Oregon; and numerous nieces and nephews who loved their “Uncle Buck” unconditionally. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Denver and Ruth, and his eldest brother, Duane.

Funeral service is Friday, June 21, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. on the grounds of The Roseburg VA Medical Center, 913 NW Garden Valley Blvd, Roseburg.

Following the service, relatives and friends are welcome to join in fellowship and share memories at Kowloon Restaurant, 2686 NE Diamond Lake Blvd, Roseburg, Oregon.

Memorial contributions may be made to Willamette Valley Hospice. Pearson’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
