Cecil I. Perry

73, was born on May 1, 1940 and passed from this life on June 14, 2013 due to a brain injury. He was born in Madera and raised in Chowchilla, California. He joined the Navy in 1957 and was honorably discharged in 1961. While in the Navy, he met the love of his life, Beverley Fonseca, and they were married on June 20, 1958 in New Bern, N.C. They resided and raised their five children on a small farm in Chowchilla.

In 1995, after retiring, they moved to Oregon where Cecil loved to fish and hunt. He was happiest spending time with his family, reading his bible, traveling (all 50 states and 24 foreign countries), gardening and sports (especially the Oregon Ducks football).

Cecil was a member of Drain Assembly of God. Even though he was unable to attend services due to health reasons, his faith in God held strong to the very end.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Beverley Perry of Drain, OR; his daughters, Debbie Herold (Kirk) of Coarsegold, CA; Cindy Evers (Cliff) of Coarsegold, CA; Melissa Sullivan (Scott) of Drain, OR; Mary Nicholson (Jim) of Drain, OR; his son, Rick Perry (Kim) of Winston, OR; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Peggy Benard, Betty Calahan (Ken), Dorothy George (Dennis), Joyce Henry (Jim) and brothers Albert Perry and Ray Mitchell (Caroline); sisters-in-law Sue Perry and Janice Brown (Woody) and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father Benjamin Perry, mother Etter Mitchell (Homer), brothers Ronnie Mitchell, Robert Perry, Charles Mitchell, Ken Mitchell and G.W. Perry; sister, Maxine Hamilton; son-in-law Mark Cobb and great-grandson Nicholas Jones.

Memorial services are being held at Drain Assembly on Friday, June 21st at 3:00 p.m. with family and friends.
