Age 63, of Roseburg, Oregon, died on June 12, 2013. He was born in Stafford, Arizona on October 28, 1949, to Mavis C. Williams and the late William J. Green.
Danny graduated from Sutherlin Oregon High School in 1968. Then he attended Willamette University in Salem, Oregon. He was 3rd in State Wrestling In his junior year, and 2nd in State Wrestling during his senior year. Danny was an honor student, and received a scholarship from Willamette University. He also attended Southern Oregon State College and Umpqua Community College. Danny made his home in Roseburg, OR for the past 36 years.
Danny could accomplish anything he set his mind to. At a very early age, he learned to improvise hugely, such that he could manually build anything needed for his home, his automobiles and trucks, and for the apartments of his tenants. He also worked many years for an Oregon mill, in what he described as “pulling chain.” He was also a manager, a landlord, and a multiple-apartment owner.
Danny married Deborah Curran, and had two children, Jennifer Green of Oakland, OR and Jeff Green of North Bend, OR. Danny and Deborah divorced in 1988.
Danny then met the love of his life, Catherine Thommen. She was his soul mate, confidant and life-companion for over 25 years.
Danny was a humble man and one who truly loved children. He loved to entertain his nine year old step-granddaughter, Annie Vazquez, Becky Sisk (Margie’s daughter) who he loved as his own, and stepson David Thommen.
Danny is survived by his mother, Mavis Green; his sisters, Margie Green, and Mary White; his brother Lonnie Green; and his soul mate, Catherine Thommen and her children: son, Scott (David) Thommen, daughter, Mandy Brown, and Mandy’s daughter Annie Vazquez; also by many cousins and other relatives.
