Sharon H. Doolittle

Age 70, of Roseburg, Oregon, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2013. She was born on October 17, 1942, in Salem, Oregon, to Curtis and Ruth Heater. Sharon graduated from Springfield High School in 1960 and attended University of Oregon and Portland State University, receiving a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Masters in Education. She married Donald C Doolittle Jr. on June 20, 1964, who passed away in 2002. She was a counselor and business teacher at Roseburg High School from 1970 - 1998. While at Roseburg High School was also a Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) advisor for many years. In 2003, Sharon won an Oregon Business and Management Educators (OBME) Distinguished Service award along with her husband, Don.

She enjoyed many camping trips with her family including many of her grandson’s friends. Sharon liked to travel and included visits to the casinos when they were nearby. She enjoyed watching her family grow up. She attended all of her children’s sporting events over the years and as many of her grandson’s as possible. She also enjoyed spending time at Depoe Bay watching whales. Sharon attended the First United Methodist Church for many years along with the YMCA. She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald C. Doolittle JR.; parents: Curtis and Ruth Heater. She is survived by her partner, Clifford Nading; son, Daren Doolittle (spouse Connie); daughters: Melissa Blue (spouse Dale); Mona Doolittle;

sisters: Janice Bjorem (spouse David); Joyce Nesmith (spouse Jim); grandsons: Austin Doolittle, Braden Doolittle; Antonio Woods II, Brendon Woods; numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at First United Methodist Church, Roseburg, Oregon. A graveside service will follow at 1 p.m. at Roseburg Memorial Gardens, Roseburg, Oregon. Please make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society in Sharon’s name.
