Rose Somoza Steingrobe (nee Guagenti)

Of Roseburg, Oregon, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2013 with her family by her side. Rose was born on August 30, 1943, in Brooklyn, New York, to

Salvatore and Anna Guagenti (nee Diorio). She lived in Torrance, California, for many years with her large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins. Rose is survived by her husband, Miguel Somoza; and her two children, James Steingrobe (Barbara) of Roseburg, Oregon, and Erica Steingrobe also of Roseburg. Rose has three grandchildren: Erica and Anthony Steingrobe; and Ryan Christian. Rose also has two siblings: Eva Gobel (Peter) of Roseburg, Oregon; and Salvatore Guagenti (Carol) of Torrance, California. Rose loved to spend time with her family as well as her many extended family members. She also had a strong love for animals and a dog or cat was almost always a part of her family. Rose was a retired nurse and worked in the Southern California area with a specialization in caring for the elderly. She also loved watching television with one of her favorite shows being “I Love Lucy.”

A viewing will be held Sunday, July 7, 2013 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Green Hills Mortuary, 27501 S. Western Avenue, Rancho Palos Verdes. A graveside service will be held Monday, July 8, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Green Hills Memorial Park, Pacifica Addition 645E.
