Age 78, of Roseburg, Oregon, died peacefully on Saturday, June 29, 2013, with his family by his side.
He was born to Harold and Lillian Gustafson Fager on May 16, 1935, in Laurel, Nebraska. Jim graduated from Lincoln North High School in 1953 and received a BS in Industrial Management from the University of Nebraska in 1957. After his service in the Air Force, Jim moved to Oregon where he married and raised a family while pursuing a career at JCPenney.
Jim was born again in Christ 1983, and married Karen Swick in 1986. Jim and Karen and her daughter, Susanne, moved to Roseburg when he became the manager of the JCPenney store. He retired in 1990 and celebrated his twenty seventh wedding anniversary with Karen on June 21, 2013.
Jim was a beloved member of Wellsprings Bible Fellowship and passionately devoted to Bill Glass Prison Ministry and Hope Pregnancy Center.
Jim is survived by his wife, Karen; two daughters: Kym Tullis and Dawn Yale; stepdaughter, Susanne Pickens; stepson, Rob Littleton; and siblings: Howard Fager; Jack Fager; and Diane Fitzgerald. In addition to his first grandson, Preston Fager, Jim leaves six other grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Bill Glass Prison Ministry or Hope Pregnancy Center. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013, at Wellsprings Bible Fellowship.
