Kathy Annette Brown

Of Roseburg passed away on Monday, July 1, 2013 from a cerebral hemorrhage. Kathy was born in Bishop, CA, on June 23, 1949 to Charlie and Nancy Rutledge. Her early years were spent in Anaheim, CA, until the family moved to Umpqua, OR in 1963 where she attended Sutherlin High and graduated with honors in 1967. She married Kenneth (Mike) Brown on June 22, 1968 and they had just celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary.

Kathy’s motto for life was to “eat desert first, life in uncertain”. She enjoyed her retirement going to garage sales, camping with friends and family and spending time with her sons and their families.

Kathy is survived by her husband; sons: Krestopher (Connie) of Elma, WA; Joshua (Aimee) of Fortuna, CA; and grandchildren: James; Nichole; Mandy; Mackenzie; Haley; Lexie; Elizabeth; and Gabby; her brothers; sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her quick smile with eyes twinkling, an infectious laugh, and sense of humor will be missed by all she touched in life.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2013 in Cottage Grove, OR, at 4 p.m.
