Born in Hanna, Wyoming on June 11, 1933 and died August 11, 2013 in Canyonville, Oregon at the age of eighty years and two months.
He lived in Wyoming, Utah and Kansas while growing up and graduated from high school in Salina, Kansas in 1952. The following year he joined the U.S. Army and retired in 1974 with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer. Six months later he began working for Civil Service and retired twenty years later in 1995.
He spent his retirement years restoring a 1951 Hudson, traveling across the U.S. to show it off, traveling to Hawaii, Alaska, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Australia, and New Zealand.
He lived 32 years in King City, California, briefly in Paso Robles, California before moving to Canyonville, Oregon where he spent the last three and one half years.
His wife Ann of 58 years, sons Carl Jay of Chico, California, Randy and wife Eunice of Battle Ground, Washington, and David and wife Margie of Paso Robles, California, survive Carl.
His grandchildren are Carolyn of Illinois, Gracie of Washington and Amy of Washington. His on grandson, Brandon lives in Paso Robles, California. His only sibling, Len and his wife Pam live in Tucson, Arizona. Also many cousins survive.
All his friends and relatives who knew him will miss him.
Memorial service will be held at Forest Glen Chapel in Canyonville at 10 a.m. Monday, August 19, 2013.
