POLICE LOG: Valuable checks stolen out of mailbox in Myrtle Creek

Thursday

Douglas County sheriff

6:18 a.m. — A downed tree was blocking both lanes in the 200 block of Bullock Road, Oakland.

11:21 a.m. — Two people in a dirty black car drove up to a mailbox and stole the mail in the 12000 block of Old Highway 99 South, Myrtle Creek. The caller was mailing two checks worth more than $5,000.

1:51 p.m. — A utility trailer was stolen in the 20 block of Weyerhaeuser Drive, Roseburg.

8:07 p.m. — A home was possibly burglarized in the 500 block of Glengary Loop Road, Roseburg. The homeowner has been gone for a while and the front and back door were open and lights were on inside.

8:46 p.m. — Caller heard approximately 10 shots from a large handgun in the area of Lockwood and Reston roads, Tenmile.

ARRESTS

The News-Review publishes the names of individuals who have been arrested on suspicion of at least one felony charge or three misdemeanors or a combination of felony and misdemeanor charges.

Eric Dean Cushing, 30, of Winston, on suspicion of two counts of possession of methamphetamine.

Roseburg Police

Cheri Marie King, 40, of Roseburg, on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine.
